A Ruko device question

Can you connect a external hard drive to a Roku device? If so what version of it? Thanks for the help, I appreciate it.

For pre-3 versions; ROKU has a program from it’s Channel Store called Plex that will allow you to play media from any source. http://www.roku.com/channels/#!details/13535/plex
Just install the free Plex server to the internet capable device you wish to connect through the ROKU Plex channel.

You can also place a bookmark in your browser’s toolbar call Plex It! to stream any media to your TV such as YouTube.
