Enabling Desktop effects on Fedora 11 (running on VMware)

August 19th, 2013

The title says everything.
I’ve been using Fedora 11 (as it is used for my coding classes, for regular work, i use windows only ) for some days. I tried to look into how to enable those eye-pleasing effects which fedora or linux offers…
But i’m not able to use them at all.
HP dv6-6115tx
Config:
i5-2.3GHz
8GB DDR3
1GB HD
AMD Radeon HD 6490M – 1GB DDR5 graphic card.
I’ve turned on 3d graphic acceleration.
Is there any way i can have those effects ?
cuz, when i try to turn them on, it says “Desktop effects could not be enabled.”

I believe the effects you are referring to is called Compiz Fusion. You have to download, install, enable, and adjust its’ settings.
