torrents really slow lately

Im using pirate bay at the moment and utorrent im getting my full broadband speed and im only receiving 51 kbps and every now and then will go up to 800 kbps then drop again taking days to download 6gb.
I have throttled my upload speed due to virgin have a strict policy on p2p sharing i know this as i work for them.
Do you think this is an issue with utorrent ive had alot of problems lately with it crashing aswell after the recent update
what other torrent programs do you recommend

thats your problem. Download speed is usually linked in a way to upload speed. If ya throttle your upload you auto-throttle your download as well. Besides that it’s also depending on how many peers/seeds are up and your connection to them and your ISP download speed.

As said it can depend on seed speed.
If say only one person was seeding at 50KB/s, it’s not going to matter how fast anyone’s net is, that’s all they will get.
