Why are adult themes posts not allowed?

August 9th, 2016

Hi, a few months ago I made a post asking for recommendations about adult themed games and it was locked. I know it’s against the rules but why? Because in reality a lot of movies and games posted do contain adult themes (plenty of violence and often times also sexuality). If the owner of the forum set the rules without any particular explanation why, that’s fine. But I just wanted to know if there is any more to it (like if in past they were posted here but it ran into problems with the law or whatever). Because I have come across little adult oriented flash games online and they can be fun to play and quite addictive too.
Thank you.

The forum is aimed at 13 year olds and upwards and any adult/sexual content inevitably leads to porn with all the genres that entails. The forum would just end up with all the disgusting stuff that surrounds porn/sex and I don’t think anyone wants it to degenerate into that. Whilst some movies and games do have adult content, you can’t expect the mods in the backroom to spend their time viewing/playing them in order to censor each one, that simply isn’t practical.

Probably 50% of the tv shows posted on here are broadcast after the “Watershed” in each country (UK, Australia, Canada, and USA) contain violence and often graphic sexual content and are meant to be watched by adults.
There doesn’t seem to be an issue with 13 year olds downloading and watching these.
Rules on forums/boards are very often hypocritical
Answer #7
It would turn into a porn site mainly if it was allowed.
Answer #8
The rules are simple..
Sexually orientated material is not allowed…
Posting vulgar and nude images is not allowed..
It’s only hypocritical if you don’t understand the difference between material that been produced for the the purpose of entretainement5 or sexual entertainment..
The Internet is full of this crap..you can find it every time you click your mouse..This is a forum..
And it’s not just to protect our younger users..Us older users get offended too if we have children running around while browsing..

(changed mind on question – delete post or ignore)

If you want porn, there are many sites that do specialize in all kinds of pornography. simply doesn’t want to be a porn site.

My question was about cartoons .. but I decided it wasn’t really all that important.

As quoted “Sexually orientated material” would also cover animated porn.
(cartoons) There’s a entire industry devoted to this type.

No, I agree – animated porn is not much different to real porn..
I was talking about sketch cartoon panels, like the old “sex to sexty” cartoon books:

But it’s a non-issue for me; I’m only discussing it here for the discussion, not becasue I want to post some. (basically I wanted the “official” version of whether they were OK or not, just out of interest on what was defined as “vulgar”)
There’s plenty of other places to find animated real or cartoon porn, porno photos and these “sex to sexty” type sketches (that one came from google images!) – there’s no need for them here.
Porn and sezy-sketches are everywhere… but good /gamez is not… this IS a site, not a “pornz” site.

I understand… While rule #1.1 is usually pretty clear with staff; sometimes there are gray areas where there is no immediate clear determination of “crossing the line” to the members. (and staff alike) This has been discussed many times in FC and if one of these “gray area” posts should happen to come up; it’s usually settled by a consensus decision of staff.

I’d pmsl if your account was deleted. Under 13’s aren’t allowed accounts here.
Please refrain from mini-modding -
#1.2 We'd like to encourage and thank members to use the report button but not add their own criticism.

So.. something like the above might be OK but a cartoon sketch with bare boobs or open vagina or limp/erect ~ censor ~ would not.. makes sense.
Not that I’m suggesting people start posting these – I’d suggest NOT.. keep it a site.
But it was interesting to hear the behind-the-scenes decision making process. Thanks.
