How to unhide all my files & folderes at once?

August 16th, 2013

Hi
I had a nasty virus, it hid everything, desktop items, programme list, everything.
I just about managed to get a system restore done.
Now its better, BUT
About half off all my files/foldrs, as still selected as ‘hide’
I can see them yes, but all the ones that are selected as hidden, are all greyed out.
Is there anyway to mass select everysingle folder and uncheck the ‘hidden’ box for all at once?
Thanks
otherwise, if got a loooong job ahead of me

This is a long shot, but you can try to reset the folder/icon views. Open Explorer go to » Organize » Folder and on the General tab click Restore Defaults. Then, on the View tab click Reset Folders and Restore Defaults again.

You can try opening command prompt and writing this
attrib -h C:\* /s
whereC is the letter of the drive you want to work on. However it will take quite a while. Or you can use paths for folders like C:\somefolder
