i think there is no any method that will compress your files as 10GB to MB.Better idea will buy a new Hard disk with TB.then use as u want
Answer #5
go for 300-400mb h264 rips, they are about the same quality as xvid rips. or you can re-encode the ones you have yourself but it’s gonna take a while if you have a large archive.
Answer #6
You can re-code them yourself using programs like Freemake video converter to a lower bitrate (note that this will however lower video quality.

Thanks all for the advice. I think I will purchase and store on a TB hard drive with all my photos. What is the biggest USB as I watch directly from usb on our tv and less bulky than an external hard drive
Answer #8
Totally agree with your decision sharz1, all this effort and compressing and re-encoding… Your time is worth more than another HDD
Answer #9
Get an external hard drive. Flash drives you can get 128 & 256 GB but they are expensive.
Do remember to backup any files you don’t want to lose, hard drives can fail at any time.

A good idea for photo’s is to have them on a hard drive, several good quality data dvd’s stored away from sticky fingers (eg Taiyo Yuden/JVC or Datasafe and Mediastar use Taiyo Yuden dye), and to be extra sure you can back up on-line eg. Dropbox.
*edit – I forgot to say, I also backup my flash cards in my cameras on a regular basis, they can fail, or your camera may get damaged/stolen.
