Document Expired errors?
January 24th, 2020
Is this a known problem?
This forum does..As far as I can remember..The last 10 years..
If you spend too long looking at something..The search will expire..
This is meant to reduce the load on the server..
FWIW, the expired page is basically instantaneous, it’s not based on any amount of delay that I can see. As soon as I read the page and hit the back button, I get the error.
Have been getting that too…Since forum went to https.
I think it may be to do with the browser (Firefox) not allowing itself to store pages for security reasons?
Happens to me also using Palemoon (firefox variant). It’s a browser error though, not what was referring to as the regular board search timeout “search expired”.
Is there any way around this on FF?
Since you are aware of the issue, yes. After doing the search open each page you want to view in a new tab (or window) so the search results are still there if the page you then view is not really what you want, you can then close it and the original search will still be in first tab/page so you can then try the next appropriate match..
So other than the workaround offered by @, no fix for this?
