Finding windows 7 genuine key from laptop hdd

Unfortunately my hdd fell inside that water and stopped working , However its hdd is working fine. Genuine windows 7 was installed in that hdd disk and I want to recover the key of that windows 7 . I have connected the hdd on my pc via usb casing. Please guide me how can I take out the cd key. tx guyz

I think you mean the laptop fell and the hdd is working, because the hdd stopped working but it’s working doesn’t seem possible.

Not sure if it’s worth it recovering OEM key…I can give you dozens of them..

If you mean a laptop fell in the water and wont work, but you are aware the HDD does… There is heaps of progs which can get the Key for free… Not something you do oftern so cant recommend one for you, but more or less you have to plug the HDD into a working comp, and google “retrieve windows key” will show 1001 progs which will do this for you.. You can then install windows on a new device with the genuine Cd Key..
Or plug the HDD into the new device.. (Either or..) msg if it aint clear enough…
Make sure you also have malware and virus enabled or might get screwed…

However, if it is an OEM key, it would only work on the same brand and type of bios as your original laptop..If retail, then OK..
So if it was OEM then best not to worry about it.
Just install Windows 7 on your new machine and use Windows Loader to activate it and make it genuine.

It was a retail WIN 7 ultimate key. Though I have found it using a software. Tx for your help

Oh..Yea…Retail key is worth recovering…
I used a little program called siw..Not sure if it’s been discontinued..
Also in Hiren’s BootCD:
ProduKey Recovers lost the product key of your Windows/Office
Never tested it myself..

ProduKey is the one I suggested. It finds the key automatically. If it doesn’t work we have the manual way. First try this software and in case it goes wrong I will guide you through the manual recovery.
