Comp Case

August 5th, 2016

Two part question.. Any one know of where/how to search for a computer case with front built in usb panels and must be a large case to fit in graphics card..??
Secondly is there a product sized the same as say DVD/CD drive with input usb ports?? (If I choose a case with out usb front ports I need either two extension cords, or a 3.5 thingy with ports.. Would prefer not to use extension cords though..)

1. Something like a Cooler Master Centurion 5, or do you want a mini ITX case, Full tower, mid-tower, mini-tower?
What length of graphics card do you want?
2. A Gigabyte Brix?
We can suggest loads as we’ve seen most designs and brands.

Ummm not sure lol… My current case, I hacked sawed bays out to make the GPU fit lol.. I would prefer to not have to do that again… That case does have usb ports but looks crap, and is a mid lol…
This is where I am buying from, so lists all the cases.. I wanna spend about 100-150$.. And preferably has to be large with front end usb ports.. (Black and Red colour scheme would also be great lol.. but can live with out it..)

http://www.coolermaster.com/case/full-tower/haf-x/
and this is what is sitting next to me now
http://www.corsair.com/en/graphite-series-760t-full-tower-windowed-case
both have things you have asked but corsair is more advanced , tbh too advanced , i spent 1 hour to remove unnecessary parts , ssd cages , extra hdd cages etc..

1. pcpartpicker, tons of measurement / compatibility options and filters and even if you can’t filter everything you can check it as it includes every info imaginable, even their wattage output info is very accurate and reflects actual usage, I’ve counted several components and have found almost identical measurements. Ever since I’ve found this site I don’t use anything else.
2. DVD tray is 5.25, searching for “5.25 usb panel” will provide you the links you need, I’ve found those two:
http://www.amazon.com/StarTech-com-Front-Panel-5-25-Inch-35BAYUSB3S4/dp/B007L5K14W
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811996038

Startech products are very good I’ve used some of them.

I personally use a Fractal Design Define R4, top mounted USB ports.
Nice and quiet, would buy Lian Li cases if they were more modern.

Thnx all for your suggestions! Think I might go the haf-x.. The 760t would be great and looks a little better but taking into account cost, the haf-x looks good enough and fits the budget, and hopefully fits a 970.. 2 of 4 of the cases on the page I was looking at in regards to the HAF cases are square…?? Wouldnt have even considered it unless you mentioned it… Any one that wants to buy a modified mid case, that can fit a large GPU message me your $$ offer, lol!!!!
Hmmmm HAF is a rectangle… Probably wont go it.., looked different/normal in the first pic, guess I should have scrolled down lol…??
Any one also know if I got the haf-x would every thing fit such as the mobo fit in it properly?? Guess my TV could be moved to fit the case.. Not sure If I like the wider case design lol??

you asked for a case for big gpu’s big means more than 30cm according to me so you need full tower cases.
most of mid towers lets you between 25-30 cm gpu , ofc there are exceptions but you need a little extra space , it doesnt good that gpu fits exactly and no space left between.
gpu size is not only related to gpu model but mostly on the custom cooler used on it so if we look at asus one https://www.asus.com/Graphics-Cards/STRIXGTX970DC2OC4GD5/specifications/
it is 28cm and this mid tower case another haf model from cooler master which is one of the most sold cases worldwide
http://www.coolermaster.com/case/mid-tower/haf-912-advanced/
lets you for 27 cm with hdd cage so if you dont use too many hdd you can take off upper hdd cage you can see on the pic which would give you approximately 40cm space for gpu as i assume the look of the pic
there are other brands as other friend’s suggest but i neither buy nor inspect the oem parts outside of my physical reach so i cant comment for some of the brands. but i have Lian Li dragon tower case which i have bought 4-5 years ago and it is good except the fans started to generate too much noise after a while which is common thing among most cases. for its shape , why do you care about shape , are you going to exhibit it in museum ?

Any one also know if I got the haf-x would every thing fit such as the mobo fit in it properly?? Guess my TV could be moved to fit the case.. Not sure If I like the wider case design lol?? Most motherboard’s you encounter will be ATX spec, you would rarely run into E-ATX.
What does matter is the width (if your mounting monster CPU coolers). Graphics card length into consideration too. Unless you like cleaning your computer, most cases are pretty much open with allot of venting holes and thus they are like dust magnets.
My current case, even after a year, it is still pretty darn clean than any other case I’ve had.

Planning on getting a GTX 970 and spec sizes are as follows. L=312mm, W=129mm, H=43mm. So a little larger then the one you posted and wouldnt fit.
Guess ill go this one, CoolerMaster RC-942-KKN1 HAF X 942 Black No PSU.

You could always go for a mini-itx version of the 970, any case will fit that, its so compact, you don’t even need a backplate to keep it in shape. I’m due for a second Strix GTX 970, two MGSV Phantom Pain keys. Will sell it one to G2A lol.
Since you probably won’t overclock it, 4 phases is enough.

Swords L= Length.. 312mm = 31.2 cm’s..
As mentioned, would prefer not hacksaw parts out of my case AGAIN LOL……

You won’t really need to cut away parts in a case.
Most GPU’s these days don’t take up allot of space anymore, the options are so great.
Video cards are going into the Fury X PCB sizes.
The coolers take up most of the space anyway, full tower cases pretty much got you covered, if need be, you can always remove a HDD cage, which most cases allow these days.
Answer #13
it will fit haf 912 advanced if you remove the extra hdd cage as can be seen on the pic . ofc haf x is better and full tower case but haf 912 advanced will also satisfy your needs with hdd cage removed and for a less price.

Swords how does the length I posted fit in a case you mention with out a hacksaw?? GPU’s state the lengths as well as the cases.. The GPU im buying needs a big case..
the site I mentioned, I presume no longer sells the out dated case you mentioned… May or may not have room for a 31.2 cm length case…
Use Sux lol….
Decided on s suggestion of a:

1. Are you referring to the first post?, it was an idea to get what your after. Initially we thought you just wanted a case that has front USB ports. The graphics card wasn’t mentioned so we can’t really determine what length you wanted.
2. Full towers are truly the biggest cases you can get, but your budget kind of limits how far you can go.
3. Corsair Carbide 300R supports 450mm’s, hardly any graphics card will be that long, unless you have end power plugs.
