Flash Drive became read only

My flash drive became write protected all of a sudden. Was transferring files from a win 10 laptop when it suddenly refused to take any more, with about half the 8gb still available. Since then i’ve tried to format it, scanned for malware, viruses, tried the one solution being prescribed everywhere, the write protect 1 to 0 in regedit ( the entry didn’t exist, created it but still no go) . Needless to say there is no physical write protect key.
Would really like some help on this. Thanks.
EDIT: Would like to mention just tried the diskpart method, it even said ‘disk attributes cleared successfully’, but still can’t format

Try RMPrepUSB,Clean master boot record, then hard Format.

that sux :/ I can however read and copy the files that’re still on there.. just weird what happened.. one second I’m copying files to the drive.. the next it won’t write :s
