Dell latitude e5510
July 28th, 2013
I just bought second hand laptop, and decided to install other OS.
But, I can’t change boot-up order. (DVD needs to start 1st)
BIOS password is blocking me to change starting sequence.
Can anyone help me?!
See this guide:

You welcome
Is there any other way?
Yep:
1. Disconnect the power cord.
2. Remove the power battery:

3. Disconnect the BIOS battery:

Leave it out for at least 10 minutes then reconnect it & the power one too.
4. Profit!
again, thank you a million for quick reply.
Opening a laptop is something that I had planing to avoid.
I was hoping about some software password brake.
Guess is unavoidable.
Thanks m8

also
before you reconnect everything depress and hold the power button down for 30 seconds
this clears the mobo stored power and hopefully the P/W chip
do above up to ………

I honestly don’t get why you keep bringing this up on these kind of topics, I don’t see how this is essential, It’d only
clear up any power that *might* still be stored in the capacitors and have no baring on the BIOS password, It’s stored
on a chip as you already noted, Which is powered by a round 3.3v battery and not by the capacitors.
