Dell mini laptop hardrive prob

Got Dell mini pc and doesn’t startup caz some file is corrupted , so I try to re install Xp with external DVD and it hangs when trying to inspect hdd or resources . I assume hdd is busted right?
I know it’s 8gb and pata

8GB?? Your sure your not referring to a Tablet? No way a Netbook will have such a small HDD.
Provide the exact model,Also try running DELL Diagnostics,You should be able to do so by pressing a certain
key on post,Refer to the manual if unsure.

True … I run diagonistics tool and it found problem when reading hdd , thanks
I found a 32gb ssd hdd … Would my netbook read this hdd or it’s too big?

Looking at the specs, I believe it will only take up to 16GB

The capacity is fine,But the form factor is a whole other thing,Only a Mini PCI-E SSD will fit,Like on the pic here:

I doubt it,It just means it’s sold with SSDs up to 16GB,Netbooks are made for low budgets so I can understand
why they didn’t include higher capacity with it,But that doesn’t mean the BIOS will not support a 32GB SSD,That’s unlikely.
