FM12 Won’t Start

I wasn’t sure where to post this so I just went for OT.
I have bought… yes, bought FM12, installed the game, activated a steam account and it worked perfectly the first time. When I closed it and tried to play again a box pops up for a split second saying “preparing to Launch game” and nothing happens,
anybody else having this problem or know how to solve it?
