Google Redirects

August 4th, 2016

I did a search and couldn’t find anybody else with this problem.
Whenever I try to go to google.com, it redirects me to myspace. When I try to use the google toolbar to search for anything, it redirects me to some guy’s myspace page. The link in the address bar is: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=help&sourceid=navclient-ff&rlz=1B3GGGL_enUS269US269&ie=UTF-8
I tried google in Firefox and in Internet Explorer.
Edit: Well, restarting my PC a third time seemed to have fixed the problem, which I don’t get, but at least it works now.

Answer #1
Does it happen to every browser you’re using?
Answer #2
Check your host file and see if there are any entries pointing to Myspace or Myspace’s IP address. It does sound like that software you were installing could be dodgy.
The host files is usually located in C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc If you right click the file and select open with Notepad you should be able
to read/edit it.
If there are any entries in there delete the line and resave the file.
