Restricting IPs for Remote Desktop or Port 3389

August 4th, 2016

If i only want two IPs to be able to remote desktop to my computer, how can i do that?
Answer #1
I’m not sure myself how to restrict RDP to certain IPS
But have you tried teamviewer?
It runs as a standalone app, no installing and allows remote access for free.
Run one copy on your PC and then e-mail a cop to the other PC you want to view from
It uses codes and passwords to connect not ip, so only the people with the right code and pass can connect
Much more secure than leave RDP open all the time in my opinion
ps, team viewer is a free app too
Answer #2
the only thing i dont like about teamviewer is that it connects the host to the TV server to the client. i like RDP because its direct.
Answer #3
You can add users to the “allow” list in vista but not ip, I think XP is the similar.
sorry I can’t be of more help, After trying RDP and VNC I gave up and found Teamviewer the simplest for “carrying around” on my usb and being able to connect from anywhere.
Answer #4
