PDF passwords and their removal

August 3rd, 2016

Had to get around a password on a PDF, and found out that Colorsync on a Mac does this just fine. Wondering what is the comparable program to Colorsync on a PC…

Owner password (which prevents PDF file from printing, editing (changing), selecting text and graphics) i pretty easy to remove with a lot of applications (like PDF Password Remover).
User password is a lot harder to handle, you would need app which uses brute-force or dictionary attach and it can take a lot of time, depending on algorithm used to encrypt file. I don’t think that files encrypted with 128-bit key could be decrypted with apps available for us.
I have problem with reading files protected by fileopen plugin (128-bit v2) But some virtual printers fortunately work. However when i print with Lizardech Printer i got document with two white vertical strips on both sides of the document, so its not perfect.
There must be a better way..

If your using XP then PM me and I will give you a tool that when you pass over the box where the password should be it should appear to you. Ha-Ha, the fringe benefits being a hacker….!
