Burning Wii ISO
August 4th, 2016
I ordered a d2pro9 modhip presoldered with the wii clip today and was hoping for some help. At the moment my internet connection is very slow in my apartment so I can’t download a Wii ISO to test it when it arrives. I tried to burn a copy of Mario Kart but I don’t have an LG DVD burner so I can’t do it that way either!!! I have a fast internet connection in my parents house so I will download games from there but I would like to know before it is too late to cancel my order is – can I burn Wii ISO on any DVD Burner? My laptop is only a month old and the burner is a Toshiba MK1652GX – will this do or do I need an LG to burn ISO as well? Thanks guys
To burn a wii iso all you need is an single layer dvd and a dvd burner best to burn at x2.4

Thats great to know – Thanks a million – much appreciated
I have a Samsung and BenQ dvd burner, I burn all my games at dvd+r (some people say buring at dvd-r is better) and max speed, no problems at all.
You only need the LG drives if you are trying to rip an original copy of the game to your computer. As long as you are downloading and burning the games you can use any drive you like.
Although it isn’t always necessary I would also recommend to burn the DVD’s at a slow speed like 2.4x. Your burner and media may be able to handle higher speeds but Wii games tend to be very finicky and although it may work once or twice as time passes you will notice the problems.
ImgBurn is a free, small, and simple little application which I can only give a big thumbs up. If you do use ImgBurn I’d also recommend ticking the ‘Verify’ option to check the disk after you have finished. This, along with the slower speed will greatly increase the time it takes to burn a game but it also checks and guarantees nothing went wrong.
I’ve had situations where I play a game and don’t notice any problems until at some point my game starts crashing. This is very frustrating and as long as you burn slow and verify won’t happen.
The burning speeds don’t have much to do with whether the game works…If you burn them at higher speeds, it wares out the lens on your console’s laser quicker…So it’s best to use high quality media and low burning speeds.
i use imgburn at 4x not had a coaster yet and iv burned about 30+ games. have fun

not true.
when burning at higher speeds, when burning the edge of the disc, the spindle inside the drive has to turn faster and faster, causing the burning to have higher chances/margins of error (packets missing)
it’s best to burn at half your max speed. example: dvd burner burns DVD+/-R at 16x max, therefore burn to the disc at 8x.
even tho many people would say the media brand of the disc doesn’t matter, it does slightly matter. consider buying a good brand in media to ensure reliability. a lot of the store brand blank media are cheaply designed/manufactured and be sensitive to wear.
Thanks for all the help guys I really appreciate it.
I am new to all this so I was wondering if somebody might be able to help me further. Once the modchip arrives and I put it inside the console what exactly do I need to do then? I have heard of things like the Homebrew Channel, scrubbed games and non-scrubbed games etc…
If somebody who has experience with this could give me just a list of what I need to download and where it goes etc….I would really appreciate it. I can find the downloads myself I just really need a crach course in what I need. I am not being lazy because I have googled it but some many sites with so much information becomes confusing. If it was all in just one place it would be great.
Oh by the way do I need anything special to play scrubbed games as opposed to non-scrubbed games?
Many Thanks
You should just use backup launcher 0.3, save yourself getting a chip most games work with it. Scrubbed or not scrubbed doesnt matter. its just a way of compression when extracted the image size will be the same.
Google twilight hack wii then get the homebrew channell installed then the backup launcher 0.3 installed
You will need an sd card and a copy of zelda twilight princess
Pm me if you have any questions
