Should I update my drivers?

Hey guys.
I bought this laptop like 4 months ago, but should I update my drivers?
I had a computer for 4 years and never updated anything on it.
But then I saw a topic somewhere about catalyst program for ATI graphic cards etc.
What will updating drivers help? Is it necessary ? Where and how do I update them?

if you play game, then you should update it. if not then no need.

Yes its good if you update your drivers but do back up your present drivers incase after update it gives you problems then you can easily roll back

So where do I update drivers, and how do I backup etc. ?

Easiest way is download Driver Genius, you can get it here and install it After you install there will be an option to back up Do that first Then you can Update your drivers with Driver Genius

Well… The thing is that there are new Graphic card drivers every month, I hardly update mine, because most of the time you won’t notice any difference anyways with or without the update. Sometimes updating can even be a bad thing it might cause crashes.
The only time I update a driver is when the update improves the quality of a game that I’m playing.
For example was using ATI driver 10.7 AA for SCII was introduced in 10.8 and since I’m an SCII player I updated my driver only for that.

Windows Update lags behind for grfx drivers tho
AMD owns ATI so start here for the latest ones

read that AMD is now phasing out the ATI brand name and we will be seeing AMD grfx cards

Windows Update should update most (if not all) of your drivers.
It’s always recomended to manually update all the drivers.

I used Driver Genius and updated like 20 drivers or something lol.
