xbox live question!

i have xbox 360 and its moded (not chip Ixtreme 1.2) i wanted to ask: when i enter Xbox Live it asks me to update, if i will update will it erase my firmware??
and if no are you 100% shure?

I modded my cousin’s 360 with that same firmware, and we went to grab the update, needed it for some new games and for xvid playback. Works like a charm. Just don’t have a copied game in the drive when you go on live, just in case.
