A Christian Bale movie…

Okay, there is a movie i vaguely can remember and I am pretty sure Christian Bale is the main actor, I may be wrong. It has to do with him growing up with nothing/poor. He meets a guy and he becomes him by using his identity with the guys DNA so he can become something and trys to go to some planet. The other guy is close to death. That’s really all i can remember. Hope someone can help

I am familiar with Christian Bale’s movies and I don’t think this one stars him (unless you’ve missed some vital plot points?).
