I have password protected areas of my website right?… But if someone simply knows my page URL’s within my site they are able to avoid the password areas and therefore obtain content they shouldn’t .. So either I need a code or script to stop people from just going straight 2 the URL’s or I need coding to hide the URL’s so they can’t be seen and bookmarked. Would anybody in here know how to do this?

So what you are saying is that they are either spoofing a url by editing a cookie or by directory traversal. This can be stopped by creating a htaccess file for each sensitive directory. Also check to make sure that your web software is up to date. A real easy way to do this is have two or one directories, for example one be for images the other for everything else.

Well basically whats going on is that people are “Bookmarking” pages and then sharing the link with others so that others can simply go to the page and download what they want from my site. For instance, I have a page called “alphas” in the alphas page there is a password area that my members must put their password in so that it will allow them to go to the next page to actually download what they paid for. The trouble is though they then bookmark that page link where the downloads are and share the link with others who then can get the downloads without paying for them. So I need a way so that my actual URL either won’t show up, is encrypted or won’t allow people to go directly to it unless they have a password or something. I know there is a way but it will cost money to have a pro do it up, however, from what i’ve seen in here ,there are a lot of people who could and can do what i’m seeking.
would a staff member bin this thread, i’ve gotten outside help on this thank you.
