On cable 5000/1000 and only get 55 kbs on Radidshare perm

July 25th, 2016

Last Sunday I notcied I could only get 55kbs on a single file dwn load
so I tired another computer and still the same – used Firefox – so
tired IE – still the same .. tired with my wifes computer I had just
re-built – bought XP — still the same .. I then E-Mailed rapidshare support – there responce was no problem
on there end ..
I then called someone that lives abt 10 miles away [ he is on DSL ]
and he was getting 300+ KBS !!
I then went over to my nabore who has cable and also the same dwn load
speed 55 kbs — I then contacted my local ISP [ VERY small outfit ]
they came out and went through everything — They can not “finger”
this one out — I asked if there was ANY filters on any web sites – there responce was
no ..
I can go to Cnet and get 600 kbs on there site Speed test’s are all ok ..
My VOIP is ok .. This has to be something that is differant between DSL and how
Cable modems are handled going into the cisco router ??
I also had them change my IP add – just to make sure it did not hve anything
to do with my IP add .. also my Rapidshare acct is not hacked .. I checked and there is NO throttle ctrl on any browser …
Have I over looked anything ??? Tnx

Rapidshare allows you to choose different download servers. When you download a file go to advance download settings and choose antoher server to download from. Your friend was getting a faster download because he is downloading from a different rapidshare server.
Also if that does not work, if you have a wireless router make sure it haves a password on the wireless. Because someone might be using you’re internet. Happen to me before.
Answer #2
I Hve logged into my perm zone and tired every server .. same ..
I am not using wireless Tnx for the responce — should of started this on first post
I even bypass the router and go dir from my computer to the cable
modem and still same .. cable modem was changed out yesterday
with new one .. Doc
Answer #3
listen if u and ur neighbor are gettin the same speed via same isp from same site then its not fault of RS
its fault of ur ISP
maybe there is some temporary downtime with ur ISP
Answer #4
Tnx for the responce
The “problem” is the person up the road on DSL has the same ISP
I told them it was on there end [my ISP] but I would like to prove
it to them .. and tell them how to fix this mess .. I hve already told
them and they hve seen that there is a diff in the DSL to Cable with
RS — so told them to go look at what “IS” the diff. were it comes into
there Cisco before it goes out to the BIG line ..

Answer #5
agreed its your isp problem allways thought I wish I could get cable but maybe not
Answer #6
This is a small ISP and hving growing pains as they cover home’s
up the mt at 8,000 ft and very rural up here .. a LOT better than dialup
or sat – lucky to hve cable ..
Going to camp out at 8am on Monday at the ISP office and talk
with there head Eng. and try and find out whats going on ..
Also getting 15% packet re-trys – I think 99.99999~ % of the people
up here , all they care about is that when they click on there mail
they get it … Tnx all for the feed back
