Any anti virus for ubuntu (linux)
October 30th, 2021
if any body know that please reply me i m waiting
You dont really need an antivirus for linux since very few viruses are out there for it. Linux is not like Windows and cant run executables unless you use Wine to run them and even if the executables you run are viruses they wont work cuz they be meant for Windows not linux. However, there is a lot of AVs out there for linux
This are freeware versions

winrar-> just install the packages rar and unrar from the software center.
winamp-> the preinstalled rhythmbox is just fine.
winzip-> it does the same job as winrar. powerdvd-> vlc. It plays everything.
As for the antivirus, I use the linux version of avg.

I know what you meant to say,(linux doesn’t run Windows executables),but this statement could be taken literally and dangerously the wrong way by a curious windows user.
By all means linux can and does run (better termed as execute rather than “run”) executables.
Have a look in /usr/bin,it is loaded with executables that are easily executed at the users whim.
Simply type: file <filename> to see the file properties.
For example using the well known executable apt-get that is located in /usr/bin:
localhost bin]$ file apt-get
apt-get: ELF 32-bit LSB executable, Intel 80386, version 1 (SYSV), dynamically linked (uses shared libs), for GNU/Linux 2.6.9, stripped
[localhost bin]$
To original poster:
Viruses?
True, linux is safe from Win viruses, but an uninformed user can be in for some serious drastic surprises if they don’t think they can be harmed with malicious script just because they use linux.
For anyone who would think that you need to be root to “install an executable” before that executable can be executed,is not thinking correctly.
To harm the OS itself, you need to be root.
To harm all of someone’s personal data is a completely different scenario.
The KDE/GNOME Desktop launchers for example are prime targets for malicious script, because they have the abilty to yield the same damaging results as an installed executable.
The Desktop launchers is just one way to do it.
So do you need a anti-virus for linux?
No.
You need common sense.
That is all you really need with Windows too,but linux sure is incredibly a LOT safer by default.
why u wannna use linux if u want av ,,, linux updates includes security solutions
USE GOOGLE FFS
