Dell n5010 overheating
September 3rd, 2013
Basically,You’ll need to open it up,Clean up all the dust in general (and from the CPU fan too),And also clean up
the old thermal paste and apply a new one,If you have no prior experience in these things,You’d be best sending
it for repairs (if still under warranty) or let a local PC shop take care of it for you.
How old is it ? If it’s still in warranty get Dell to have a look.
Thx, it’s under warranty, so i will take it to repair. Old around 6-7 month’s, it’s irritating everything work and in the middle of process shut down…
Before sending it for repairs,Might be a good idea to backup your data to be on the safe side,If I was in your shoes,I’d also wipe it
clean (DBAN) and reinstall the OS,But that’s just me,I wouldn’t trust strangers with my data.
