.MKV on the Xbox 360?

After the latest update Microsoft allows you to play Xvid/Divx on the Xbox 360. Does anyone know if it will play .mkv files? I want to download and view some micro HD movies but don’t want to waste time and bandwidth downloading 2GBs only for it not to play!
