Getting Sleeping dogs to work on WIN 8

I have recently installed SLEEPING DOGS v1.8 BY SKIDROW
and I realized that there is a compatibility issue with Windows 8
I am currently running Windows 8 Pro 32bit anyone got any suggestions for me?
I tried the basic things that I found on google and nothing seems to help
Try right clicking on the exe file / or shortcut and change the compatibility mode.
To expand on what mentioned, Right-Click the file > Properties > click the Compatibility tab > use one of the different compatibility modes like Windows 7
You could also try installing Steam and see if that helps
