August 6th, 2016

one of my friend downloaded bioshock infinite from this topic
http://www.google.com?t=17224957
part5 and part 13 were corrupt, the uploader is not responding is there any way to fix corrupt files (CRC error)
thanks in advance

Answer #1
1. In the main RAR window when originally clicking the RAR file, click on “Extract To” :
2. Under Miscellaneous, check “Keep Broken Files” , Choose whatever folder on your computer you would like to extract the file into, then click OK.
3. During the extraction process, you will have the CRC errors pop up. Just click on “Close” every time it pops up.
and it should successfully extract the file into your folder and be ready for use

This usually works for me, hope it helps you.

Tools – Repair archive, but I’m sure you already tried that.
Also, your friend downloaded 1GB Links, right.
Did he download all from the same hosts.
If he did maybe he could try to download those 2 files from other hosts since the links are Interchangeable.
Answer #3
The topic you download from has winrar 10% file recovery. This is so you can
repair corrupt files.
if you ran winrar “test archived files” and that indicated part 5 and 13 are corrupt, you can repair them.
Place corrupt part 5 in a new folder, open winrar, click on Tools, repair archive.
Now you will have 2 part 5’s. rename the repaired file to the original and
add back to your original files. You will get a confirmation that the file
has been repaired. Do the same for part 13, repair, rename, add back to original
rar’s

your method worked blackbox setup is opening but saying archieve damage@
tried downloading from other host@-not working
rar repair not working @tooth-same crc error
Answer #5
OK if no joy, 7-zip might be able to unpack the entire file…if still no success then you might have to look into a third party recovery software for winrar crc errors…

Answer #6
when you try to repair the file, it should say something like “recovery record found” as it checks the file.
If you dont get Recovery Record Found, repair will not work.
The other option is to re-download the problem parts only, not the whole game again.
Answer #7
Topic you posted has others saying same thing. I’d suggest either waiting for uploader to fix it, but i don’t think they think there is a problem with it. Or just find elsewhere.

help needed

Just to be sure – you are using the repaired file for extraction, right? You’ll probably need to rename the repaired file as well cause WinRAR changes the file name to repaired_filename.rar or something like that

Could you possibly be using the latest version of WinRAR (v5)?
If yes; try reinstalling version 4 of WinRAR (4.20 last stable) and see if those archives are actually corrupt.
I tried WinRar v5b3 to extract an archive that I created using v4.20 (10% recovery and Password protected), and it reported the archive to be corrupt.
After having tried all of the various repair methods unsuccessfully, I went back to v4 and all of my archives are fine!
