Hey,
Doesn’t your TV at home have iplayer anyway? As far as I know its built into pretty much every topbox, which after the switchover everyone has…
There are some solutions where you can download the files via iplayer on your pc and then convert them. Would this be something you are interested in?

Which show do you need?
Maybe someone here can help search for it

No ive got nothing as fancy as that on my tv lol
im in the UK not sure if that makes any difference or not to the kind of TVs u mean maybe u mean those new Smart TVs but anyway no my tv only supports files played from USB
Yes be interested in downloading then converting.
know u can download the shows to your PC on the iPlayer but some like C5 on Demand and C4 only lets u view on your Pc and not download them so thats why i was after some kind of screen video recorder to do it that way.
@Adil2010 i download most that i miss but at the moment the only way i can watch a certain tv is online its Dave Gorman Modern life is Goodish eps 1-6

Loads of questions to answer here. Here’s the steps I would take:
1. About two years ago TV’s changed the way they receive their programs to digital. Because of this all functioning TV’s have either a freeview box attached to it, or built in. Take another look at your TV menu. All post 2010 freeview boxes / modules should have iplayer installed by default. If not, what kind of internet service provider do you have? Chances are they supply some kind of box of their own that is also attached to the TV and that will have iplayer on it.
2. If that does not work use the Aimersoft conversion program to convert files downloaded from iplayer onto your pc:
http://www.aimersoft.com/drm-media-converter.html
http://www.google.com?t=18329710&highlight=
3. Like the BBC 4od have a native app you can install on your pc. Once you have saved the files you can just convert them with the program above. Not sure about 5od though, I think you might be limited to watching that in your browser. In both the iplayer and 4od app you can change the download location in the preferences to help you find the downloaded files
I’m afraid I can’t help you much with the screen capture / recording program. I think there are real issues with quality etc. but maybe one of our fellow members knows better
