Acekard 2i or acekard 3 for Nintendo 3DS

August 14th, 2013

Hi, I am looking into buying a nintendo 3DS and also want to play DS roms from it.
I know that I would require a flashcart and acekards seems to be more reliable than R4.. is this correct? And would it be better to buy the Acekard2i or the Acekard 3 for the 3DS?
Also does anyone have any step by step guides to “hack” the 3DS to play roms?
Thanks

Heres a list of flash cards that currently work on the 3DS

I would go with one of these but you cannot play 3DS games with any flashcard at the moment only DS games.
Also stay away from Acekard 3 cause it is a clone/fake
A new Web site has popped up selling the Acekard 3 for the 3DS. This card is a clone/fake which Acekard themselves have warned users about. Please be aware that this is not a real Acekard when making any future purchases. This card will not be supported by AKAIO, Acekard, or the new Acekard anti-counterfeit code system.

Straight up, R4’s are pure trash so you can’t really use that as a comparison.

Thanks for the responses, those links are quite helpful.
Another question.. I saw that the acekard 2i firmware needed to be updated to work on the 3DS and the firmware can be downloaded from the acekard site, but then people use previous DS models to update the firmware and only after that does it work on the 3DS. So If I don’t have any previous DS consoles, can I still update acekard firmware to work for the 3DS straight off the bat?

You should be able to update the firmware by just changing the files on the micro-SD card, I remember cards such as TTDS required to read the firmware on the micro-SD otherwise it won’t boot.
If that fails, surely that flashcart is poorly designed.
I forgot to say why the R4 was so bad, its spring load tends to fail, the result is poor connections. This screws up the purpose of having a third party flash cart.

ACEKARD 2i is the best cart out there R4 are ok for the original ds but ds lites, dsi, and 3ds need a acekard and i have one on my 3ds one that i had on my dsi for over a year with 32gb micro sd card and it works like a dream ….inbox me if you need more info about setting them up etc

nothing can play 3ds roms because there isnt any cards that can but the acekard works on the 3ds but plays all regular DS and dsi games also any emulation games.
