I cannot change my internet settings

SO I posted help with my situation on another forum and didn’t really get help. I cannot change my internet settings and I wanted to transfer certain pokemon I have in pokemon white rom to my pokemon X retail card. I had a few people help me on a pokemon forum to trade me in my White but my ds lite would not let me trade. So this is what I posted on the other forum that my problem was:

So I was trying to get some help from some one to help me transfer my pokemon from white to X. I tried today to access white on my ds lite to get my pal pad friend code and couldn't. So after some reading I noticed I can't do trades with white on my ds lite since my internet security is WPA2-Personal. So I'm here to see if someone here can help me with my situation & take my save file and help me get my pokemon over to my X. I can't do it myself since the last pokemon game I bought before X was Diamond before I got my R4. If you can help feel free to post here or you can PM to make sure I see it. I'll be giving my save file,the save converter tool + you can have my duplicates of all my legendary pokemon I got from events, and wonder card events in return for helping me transferring.
I know I’m suppose to change my internet security just for the trades but the pc it’s hooked up is messed up. It needs to be updated but can’t connect to the internet no matter what even though it is directly hooked up to the modem. So I can not change the internet settings even if I wanted to & to change it back but I have no spare ethernet cable to hook up my laptop to the modem and try to change it that way. Can some one help me out

So all you want to do is to change the Authentication from WPA2-Personal to something else ?
Log on to your router via the webinterface, ussually the same address as your local gateway (192.168.x.1) , and change WiFi authentication there … If I misunderstood your question, please let me know …

I understand that. But the problem I’m having is that the pc that is hooked up to the router/modem has problems and wont let me change any settings without giving me errors that I need to update my pc. It’s a 2000 pc that I had to reinstall win xp on it but I cant use it now without it telling me it needs updates which it can’t do since it can not connect to the internet even though it is connected. It’s weird. But no one ever uses it.

Try resetting the router to the default settings..Most if not all routers have a reset button in the back…

Ok so i had time after work, so i checked. The pc cannot let me add my internet connection so it wont let me go on the routor login site for my routor to change any settings/ security. The errors that pop up talk about how risky it is to install anything and now gets stuck if i try to update/ add anything. Could someone help me out. No matter what i do i cann’t change my internet security settings for a short time. Could someone help me out and use my save file and help me by trading me them back in pokemon x/y.
