Gold Bracelet Info?

August 18th, 2013

Hey,
I have a Gold Bracelet that I want to sell….
* Weighs 15g
* 8mm wide
* 2mm thick
* Length is 7.5″
I just got asked whether its Solid or Hollow though,
im pretty sure it’s Solid but how would I know?
or does the weight itself answer that?
Thanks.

You’d probably get just as much money, if not more selling it for scrap. How many karats ?
Answer #2
Well its says £190-195 on the Websites i’ve gone on but i’ve been offered £200
its 9ct, weighs 15g…
obviously just by the karat and weight, the Websites know it’s worth £195,
so obviously taking £200 isnt ‘too much’….
just wanted to know whether from the weight and sizes etc, would anyone know if its solid or hollow,
im pretty sure it’s solid but not 100% sure.
Answer #3
Take it to your local jewellers or pawn shop, they’ll be able to tell you, and give you a scrap value.
*edit – as you say, on-line prices are about £195 for scrap today.
Answer #4
Suppose so, not sure where my nearest one is though,
I have it up on eBay thats all…
and had 3 Offers but then someone asked whether its Solid or Hollow,
so just thought i’d see if anyone on here would be able to tell from the size/weight.

Take it to an actual jewelry store. Going to a pawn shop is a horrible idea lol
They always give bottom dollar so they can profit from the piece.
Most jewelry stores give top dollar for gold!

I only said pawn shop, as 99% of the jewellers near me in London,UK, are pawnbrokers as well. They would be able to tell him if it’s hollow or not.
