Head Phone Prob…

August 1st, 2016

Hello,
More or less I have problem with my head phone connection.. Due to playng WOW I use both head phone as well as mic.. The mic works ok all the time.. The head phone only works if I apply downward pressure to the cord.. For example I game with a comp located on a dresser where my cloths are.. I rap the cord with pressure around a circle thingy (handle).. that causes downward pressure.. My comp case has frontal connections, and no other connections works for a head phones, Does any know if this prob is fixable,?? Or do I more or less need a new case or continue my fix of rapping a cord around a knob to hear with head phones???

You need to be sure it’s the socket on the case that is faulty and not the plug/cable of the headphones.
Trying some different headphones would prove that.

I love your work I must say for what ive seen on the help desk!! In this instance I have tried many headphones, as well as having an extension lead (I lay in bed to play games and listen to music, but have tried without the lead as well)… My best guess would be I have stomped on a head phone cord (while it was plugged in) I had connected and bent the receiver out of place.. The top bracket sound connector of my case was built in when I bought it and im not sure how to replace it.. The only conclusion I can come to is to buy a decent sound card (other then I have which is poor quality and does not have a head phone port (in the back of the com)) And considering I use the extension lead would not be a prob, unless I can fix the current prob with out spending money, (or having to wrap the cord around a handle to make the head phones work…) which would be better…
(Noticed your Insomnia quote… Its not nice being up for 7 nights an 8 days here and there.. (I suffer from chronic Insomnia and hate it even worse then my server brain damage..) Plz remove it…)

Hard to believe a computer has no rear audio ports. If it does, use the green speaker port.
Answer #4
It doesn’t… I built this com after receiving severe brain damage.. Ironically I am 30% def.. At the time I was getting a support payment to help build the machine, it still aint bad after 3 years (with the exception of the sound card)…. At the time the two things I could have done better were ! the sound card.. 2 the hard drive (SSD plus a normal large drive)…..

Get yourself a internal sound card (budget up to you), or purchase an external usb sound card, they aren’t great but its a cheap fix (probably 10 Aus dollars or so).
Answer #6
Plenty of external sound cards to choose from here!
All from Oz, you don’t even have to wait for China post At the price you can always get better later..

Thanks for the suggestions, USB to sound seems to be a decent work around and 3$ for a device + postage.. (considering I live near a umart, will check them out cause im cheap hehe)… Problem solved
