BitTorrent installed search.conduit.com :/

August 6th, 2016

Hi guys,
I’m hoping somebody can help me. So basically I downloaded and installed BitTorrent, and after snooping around google, it seems that’s the cause of search.conduit.com taking over my beloved Chrome… However, a lot of people have said to remove the extension for it and the problem is solved, but in my extensions tab there doesn’t seem to be anything to remove.
Can somebody help me with a simple step plan to getting rid of this bloody nuisance?
Much appreciated,
Sam

Aren’t they exactly the same thing?
Thanks Gaz, I’ll give it a try!

Aren't they exactly the same thing?
They do the exact same thing, that is why I recommended it to you.
However, the code is written and developed by two different companies, so while they do the same thing, they are not alike in any way.

Thats wrong they are identical apart from the colour both owned and developed by bittorent inc,on utorrent if you click help and then about it tells you so.

When you have this issue sorted you should look for an AV like ESET that can be configured to prevent “potentially unwanted software” AKA bloatware from installing.
I wish more AV providers would develop signatures for this junk software.

Dually noted; however, I have never had any of the OP’s problems with utorrent.
Answer #8
I too would recommend uTorrent, if that helps the cause in anyway
Never had any issues with it
Answer #9
I’m utorrent also the problem is that there’s so much ad/malware around these days that it could’ve come from anywhere at the end of the day its potentially only a click of the mouse away.

I know this is an old topic, but I felt that this reply was warranted. I have just found through NOD32 which shows in the quarantine log, that the Divx Plus install, also has this filth in it.
Definately food for thought
It is against the rules to make a reply to an old topic unless under special circumstances such as, but not limited to, the topic's discussion has died but there is new striking evidence to turn thoughts around or saying thank you for the author. A reply with information that is relevant and useful is allowed.. -
