8.4′ tablet for reading magazines & comics?
August 1st, 2016
Whilst I’m sure bigger is better (10′ or bigger) is it really necessary or do you find 8.4′ screens perfectly readable without having to constantly zoom and pan pages?
The model I’m currently looking at getting is the Samsung 8.4 Tab Pro with a 2560×1600 screen.
Thanks for any replies.
Had an 8′ tablet for a long time, also an iPad from a friend sometimes, I actually preferred the 8′. I’ve read lots of pdfs epubs and cbrs to it w/o problems.
Personally, I find the 8″ tablets to be an awkward size. Its too big to just stick in my pocket like a phablet sized phone. If I’m going to have to carry it around, I might as well just have a 10″.
personally i have a samsung galaxy tab 3 8 inch and a galaxy tab 4 10.1, its all about what you are using it for, i prefer the smaller one when i am lying in bed reading a ebook since its lsmaller and less heavy, but if i am watching netflix or playing a game i prefer the 10.1, also browsing the internet on the bigger tablet is easier due to bigger screen, on my 8 inch i am constantly having to use my two fingers to zoom in.
get the one thats in your budget, i would go to bestbuy and walmart and just try them out out, try reading etc… to see which one you prefer looking at.
I have an iPad Mini and I must say it is the perfect size for me, very easy to hold in one hand and very light. Say what you like…Apple fanboy or whatever, I honestly cannot fault it.
Do a google search, you’ll probably find a few articles dedicated to your question…
I’d much rather have an 8″ tablet than a 10″ one to read on.
If you like iOS, you can’t go wrong with the iPad Mini 2 or 3 and if you’re in the Android camp, have a look at the Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact.
Just as a follow up to my OP…I went ahead and purchased the Samsung 8.4′ TabPro with the 2560×1600 screen and…wow!!!
Comics and mags are crystal clear and such vibrant colours, very pleased with the purchase.
Thanks for the advice offered.
