Windows 7 Installation problems

July 26th, 2016

I have got Windows 7 64 bit installed. 2 days back, 12 updates got downloaded automatically and when I started to shut down the machine, I got a message that these updates were getting installed.
I knew that these updates wouldn’t take long to get installed, so went off to do some other chores, half an hour later, I saw that it was installing update no 3 of 12. I was a bit surprised but thought that this update took sometime to install and it will over after some time, but after some 6 hours update no 3 was still getting installed, I lost patience and booted the machine, and went into Microsoft updates again and started installing the remaining updates because update no 3 had failed to get installed. I booted the machine again and everything was running alright, but yesterday, 3 more updates got installed and the machine restarted and failed to start Windows, giving me a message that NTLDR was missing.
I decided to format and load Windows 7 64 bit again, and started the process, which went off without any hitch, but after copying and installing the necessary files and updates and restarting, it stopped after checking the BOOT CD and waiting for a response, instead of continuing the installation. I pressed the ENTER button, but nothing happened. I changed the BOOT process to Hard Disk in BIOS and restarted the machine, hoping it will continue to install, still it stops on the second screen with a continues flashing cursor.
I have now accessed the Internet through Linux UBUNTU CD without installing.
What did I do wrong, please help.

Answer #1
Just a guess..Maybe there some hard drive errors..
It won’t hurt to check your HD for errors..
Answer #2
Throw in a Windows XP disk to do a clean wipe then when it asks to install XP spit out the disk and insert the Windows 7 for a thorougher clean install.
Answer #3
Could you please try another copy of windows 7 SP1 64bit?
edit:
Also make sure to delete the partition of windows+recovery partition. (should be 100mb).
If you do not have partition with other data than windows, I suggest recreating the partitions.
Answer #4
Insert your windows installation disc and try to see if the partition has Windows files. If it has windows files try to repair the bootloader
bootrec /fixmbr
bootrec /fixboot
bootrec /rebuildbcd
If the above steps don’t work and you are sure that the installation is complete, you can force a new bootloader with:
bcdboot windowsdrive:\Windows /s bootloaderdrive: /f ALL
If the above steps doesn’t work, then the installation is not complete.

the most common cause of what you have experienced is , reinstalling windows without removing the system reserved partition from previous install , also suggested that. remove all other hard drives except the one your are going to install windows and try to reinstall windows , when you get the menu of installation type , choose custom. on there delete all partitions including 100 mb system reserved to get 1 raw unallocated harddrive. then install your windows at there again and always keep boot on dvd . the guides i m gonna give are explaining what i told in pictures so you may wanna take a look at them.

and this one for uefi installation if you need

depending on updates it may take long but not that long like 6 hours , i assume you have pirated version of windows(which are released every month by adding recent updates) cuz i get over 100 updates when i make fresh install with my original win 7 sp1
know that all the data in your primary harddrive will be permanently erased after that process , thats why i told you to remove any additional harddrives you have , to avoid the confusion which can result the deletion of important data in them.
