Would I see a massive difference?

August 3rd, 2016

I don’t want to get too in-to it but I worry a lot, I worry about things like electricity etc. yeah, it’s just the way I am! Anyway, I have this PC:

(though I added an MX100 128gb SSD & 8GB Corsair XMS 1333Mhz RAM)
I have a 24″ 1080p Acer Monitor too.
I also have a Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7 Wi-Fi that I use to browse the Internet.
What will consume more electric? charging my Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7 Wi-Fi or using my PC?
I’ve been thinking about it for a while so thought I’d just ask.
thanks!

Do you already have this PC? How did you connect the pa usb ports, the mobo doesn’t have usb3 headers? Did you use an adapter or is it a case with usb2 ports, sorry I think there are 3 models of this case but it doesn’t state which one it is. Calculating the power output is difficult, it depends on your usage etc, I would guesstimate that your PC consumes more, but not by a big margin.
Answer #2
I would be baffled if the computer did use less electricity than the tablet, because I would assume that the monitor alone would consume more power.
Also, if your goal is indeed energy efficiency, AMD cores may not be right for you.
Answer #3
Charging the Tab will be more power efficient than a made up PC, however those of us in the real world are now using tablets to catch dust, if you place them correctly they can draw dust from places you don’t want it.
Answer #4
ah so you make to do those calculations for this. it is normal , everyone can have strange worries but when we do calculations , that worry is getting fed and becomes bigger. so no more calculations for you
i would either say monitor like or cpu , but judging that cpu is old , probably monitor takes the lead. you already made yourself protected somehow by using 350W psu so dont worry
edit : i read wrong , i thought that you are asking , which part consumes more energy . in order to answer your question you should provide the specs of that galaxy related to electricity as well as the wifi thing. as a simple guess , tablets would use less energy for %99

Get hold of one of these power consumption meters, then you can tell us the answer

Answer #6
huauhahua yes , that could give you the exact answer but i dont recommend you to buy it since you will find yourself in a situation measuring consumptions constantly about everything , if you worry so much those things.
nevertheless i need to tell you something. consider 2 psu , one is 750W other is 1000W and everything else is same. while having 300 W load , 1000W psu consumes less energy on most cases. those watt things is just about capacity. real consumption is calculated by voltage and ampere.

Yep, I’m using it right now.
Only the back USB ports work, the front aren’t connected to anything.
I did post in helpdesk before and lordal (I can’t remember his name) helped me pick my PC.
Thanks for the reply though.

Yeah, thanks.
This AMD CPU has a watt of 25W IIRC.
I have had an 8350 AMD Pile-Driver and a 4790k i7. they weren’t getting used, only for web browsing and streaming. so I sold them and bought this!
It does everything I need.

I noticed my PC is gathering a lot of dust. suppose it can’t be helped.

Added it to my basket and bought it, thanks .

I never knew that Looks like I’ll be using my Tab A for most things now!
A MASSIVE THANKS TO YOU ALL!!!!!!
