GameCube error when launching Zelda Wind Waker or Twilight

October 29th, 2013

Hi everyone,
I recently acquired a Nintendo GameCube, and nowadays i can’t found any of its games to buy them, so i’m trying to download the ISO of the games and burning them in DVD-R or DVD-RW then playing them on the hacked GameCube…
Anyway, it’s working perfectly for me except for two games: The Legend of Zelda The Wind Waker and The Twilight Princess: when the first game is launched, after displaying nintendo’s logo and the 50-60Hz display choice menu, i’m getting this error, something like this: “An error has occured, turn off the power and look in the manufacturer manuel….”. For the second game, nothing is displayed except for the error.
The two games DVDs are turning perfectly and non-stop.
The DVDs are new and without any kind of scratch or dirt…
I have burned the two games with a speed of 2X.
So if anyone knows about this issue please help me, because i’m a zelda fan and it’s so frustrating to have all the games playables except for those two :'(

its probably just a bad copy…i use to download dreamcast games all the times and sometimes they just wouldnt work and its the same with some wii games
Answer #2
yes, you have a point, but i have already tried the two games on the dolphin emulator on pc, and they are working, so the copies are alright.

Thanks to warez-bb i have found a good copy of The Wind Waker, so i want to share some good information for how to bypass this problem of mine:
1- Make sur that the game is a PAL version if your gamecube is PAL, or NTSC in the other case.
2- Burn the ISO using Alcohol 120% in PS2 Mode Maximum writing speed.
3- If the DVD still not working, take off the gamecube DVD reader, in the bottom you can find a “potontiometer” which adjust the power of the DVD reader Laser, try to turn it very slowly counter clockwise, while contolling the valor of the potentiometer using a multimeter, it’s recommended that the valor must be over 100 ohm, and everytime try to see if the DVD is working or not until you found the good position.
4- Enjoy otherwise go buy a wii which had a more powerful reader than the gamecube.
