windows 7 startup fail help

January 29th, 2020

my wife was watching netflix and she tells me the pc turned off so she waited then turn it back on. it pops up saying windows cant load and she does the start up repair because it was recommended. well that failed so i noticed my sata cable unplugged from one of my hard drives, so i plugged it in and it still cant load windows. when i do the start up repair it tries to check everything on drive e for some reason. so i reformatted one of my other hard drives and installed windows on it and that works perfect and i can recover everything on my primary hard drive. but i still don’t know how to fix the problem and what the problem even is can someone guide me in the right direction please?
Answer #1
You need to enter your BIOS(Del or F10 or whatever key) before windows boots and select the correct boot drive.
Answer #2
Does your bios recognise all drives including the one that the cable fell out of ?
Answer #3
yes and my bios is set right. i just tried disconnecting them all and just use the one with win7 on it and it still doesn’t work. the start up repair cant find anything to fix it. it also seems to be looking in the wrong drive instead of c: it has looked in d: and e:.
