Windows 7

August 23rd, 2020

I just attempted to do a clean install from disc, installing Windows 7 RC over Windows 7 Beta, and as it was expanding Windows files, it said it did not have the required items.
Why?
The disc is fine, I wrote it at a slow speed and all, should be working !

Do you have anymore details about the error? And are you 100% sure the copy went right. Or that the .iso even works. Where did you download it?
Answer #2
Did you download from the windows site? Some other places can be dodgy or have corrupt files.
Also what burner did you use?
Answer #3
If he got the RC client I imagine he got it from microsoft. You might have to format your drive before you attempt the new install, but usually that’s not the case.
Answer #4
Yeah Windows 7 site, and I burned it with Alcohol 120%.

Maybe try this one. It’s always good to start with a fresh hard drive. Btw those bugs are normal since it’s an RC, so strange ~love~ happens. Either stay away from Windows 7 for now or try obtaining the latest RTM. (More stable) (But check your sources and make sure there no virusses / etc… in it. )

It’s a bad burn…And if you burned it again…Then you burner is not doing a good job…Or the DVD media you are using are no good..
I got this problem before…Burning another DVD solved my problem…

Yeah it is… Trust me I tested it and it’s much much faster… also there are some tricks that are really usefull
Answer #10
Check the md5 checksum off what it should be (should find it on the site). if it is different then you must redownload it. Try using a virtual dsic (daemon tools or whatever), and install from within vista. Its much faster than a dvd anyway and saves you a dvd, i did it that way last time.
Answer #11
Where can I find it? And how do I find out the one on the file?
Answer #12
It depends what version you have. For example X86/32Bit: 7201.0.090601-1516.isos MD5: 70E48837DD513BA98FE483AFD0746E37
This program should tell you if your md5 matches.
