Answer #9
nono vista and games its fockin mad !!
Answer #10
If your computer is good enough, I suggest you use Vista. With DirectX 10, you can play almost all latest games
Answer #11
If you can handle it Vista with DX10.
Otherwise xp.
In xp I get 30fps in crysis on my 8800gt with everything set to high at 1400 x 900. In vista it dropped to 20, same settings.

Dont install modded OS versions people never know what they are doing when they rip stuff out. Do full installation of Windows XP Pro 32bit. Unless you got more than 4GBs of ram then use Vista 64bit.
Answer #14
Install Windows XP Pro 32bit its good for Gamers where Vista isnt why becuase 80% of PC games only work on Windows XP Pro 32bit drivers some games have been patched too work on Vista but is still a total waste of time theres still many many bugs Im playing BattleField 2142 hey man if anyone says that game is old then there a FOOL BF2142 only works on XP
man the thing is, you dont want too buy a game then realise it doent work on your Operating system.

I would also reccomend giving vista a try, i wen from Xp to vista about a year and a bit ago and have never lokked back.
Answer #21
Lol u noe wat vista does??.simply doubles the requirments.Go for xp pro 32 as the modded ones get corrupted for some reason too quickly:
Answer #22
Linux is terrible for gaming. Stick with XP
Answer #23

1-Ubuntu is a linux distro 2-If you have 4Gb of ram, that doesn’t mean you will be able to install a 64bit Vista(nor 64bit Xp) you need to check if your cpu runs on 64bit or 32bit.
3-64bits windows OS are always buggy and less secure than the 32bits version (if that could even be possible(windows sucks hard wen it comes to security)(you just need to read some reviews)
4- On linux, with some programs like Wine or other “emulator” you may not be able to run some games.( i played halo on ubuntu with no probs)
To put it in black on white:
-Windows sucks buts it’s the only way to play “all” the games you will need.
-Give some more years to the linux hackers to put out a linux distro that can run “all” the games you will need.
-Xp for games(for now) Linux for other stuff.
i had windows ice xp on my computer and the games ran really good. why don’t you try it out?
