Using a downloading Program

February 2nd, 2020

I’ve used three different downloading programs when using links provided for software.
I enter the link(s) and all three copy it, or them correctly, but they all download an html file
which is a copy of the page, not the file.
Can someone help me ?
Thanks

Answer #1
Well, I use IDM cuz I am on windows.
You do not tell us what program your downloading, or what link your are downloading. How do you expect us to help you? You think people are really psychic?
Answer #2
You don’t actually enter links into your download manager. You need to load link up in your browser so that it goes to hosts page and then you’ll be able to click their download button and hopefully your download manager will pick that link up.
Answer #3
and hopefully your download manager will pick that link up.
Or instead of hoping, you can configure it properly =)
Answer #4
My IDM is different as it’s portable and i can’t integrate it as i don’t have admin rights.
So i have to download a little differently to how others would do it.
If i just put a link from here straight into IDM i would get html page too.

To those who offered legitimate advice, “thank you”
I’ve gotten help, and without the need of a psychic.
I’m using Google Chrome, and the following is required:

Go to DownloadStudio's Options (Web Browser Integration) dialog. It contains instructions and settings for all popular web browsers.
Click Monitoring is not working in Google Chrome.
Check these solutions:
Make sure you have installed the DownloadStudio Plug-ins into Google Chrome. To install them, go to the Options (Chrome Page) dialog box in DownloadStudio and click the Install Changes Into Chrome button. This will install the DownloadStudio plug-ins into Google Chrome.
After installing, close all copies of Google Chrome and start a new instance of Google Chrome.
To check that the plug-ins have been installed correctly into Google Chrome, type "about:plugins" into Google Chrome's address bar. It will show all plug-ins that are installed in Google Chrome. Make sure that you see DownloadStudio Click Catcher plug-ins listed.
It's possible another plug-in (often another download manager) is also using click monitoring and interfering with DownloadStudio. You may need to remove these plug-ins from Google Chrome's "plugins" folder to completely remove their click monitoring.
