USB Keyboard not working during booting. Please read details
January 27th, 2020
Please don’t ask me to purchase another PS/2 keyboard!!!
Thanks in advance for all answers
are you connecting it in front or back of PC ?
you try all ports in back ?
do the lights on the KB flicker during boot ?
will the PC boot without the KB connected ?
or do you get a no KB error ?
if you get the error try connecting the KB at this point and hit the “enter setup” key
with the KB connected try the “reset CMOS” jumper on the mobo

i have tried all usb ports on the back…
the num lock blink twice during booting then goes off…
yes pc boots without the keyboard…no error message…
is there any registry entry to enable “usb keyboard legacy support” in bios???
is there any registry entry to enable "usb keyboard legacy support" in bios???
nope
this is a before windows loads problem so no registry solution the lights flickering seem to indicate it’s being found you have a USB mouse connected as well ? try disconnecting it
if you have any other USB devices connected disconnect those as well
if you still have the non-working PS2 KB try connecting both KB’s while booting
you could also try taking the motherboard battery out for a hour or so to try to reset the bios
they is a legacy yes in bios . i did it today and solved the problem , cause i updated the bios and it went OFF

i did exactly what you said…i disconnected 2 USB devices before switching on my pc…
surprisingly the F2 key worked and i entered the BIOS but the arrow keys didn’t work…
then i changed the port and the arrow keys worked fine…
i enabled the legacy usb support…
now my usb keyboard works absolutely fine….
PROBLEM RESOLVED
