TV Tuner Quality

My mate had a leadtek winfast dtv2000h which I bought off him to record Xbox 360 but there seems to be a problem. When he recorded the quality was pretty good but when I record its all blury and while playing its very blury and horrible quality. We both use windows movie maker to convert it to WMV from AVI.
We both used same settings and also PAL 50 with Xbox 360 composite cable.

His video has a HQ option as well. Anyone know why this is happening when we are doing the same thing?

Might be because of the conversion with windows movie maker? did the original video is also blurry? (because youtube video might also decrease the quality)
