Too big monitor size

January 24th, 2020

Hi,
I just made a big mistake. I just purchased a fancy brand new 27″ Samsung monitor since my grand old 22″ LG decided to throw in the towel few days ago.
I recognized that this new shining monitor is way to huge for me even though I’ve adjusted and optimized all possible settings. The viewing distance and resolution doesn’t matter at all, my eyes still really hurt, I get dizzy and am suffering from headaches. It can’t go on like this, I cannot simply live with this.
Does anyone of you know if there is any software that could dim or shrink the monitor output size – Let’s say 27″ to 24″?
I’m more than grateful for any help, ideas or/and suggestions in advance!

Answer #1
it new monitor, you get used to it later.
Answer #2
what resolution you set at, the monitor is prob 1920×1080
try turning the brightness and/or contrast and/or gamma down
you have the latest drivers for your video card ?
in your video drivers and/or your monitors OSD menu or both turn off “scaling” or “stretch to fit screen” setting
then set your resolution to 1440×900 or whatever you can’t return the monitor ?
Answer #3
When I upgraded from a 19″ to a 24″ I thought it was too big too, But I got used to it, And so will you! Make sure your using the monitor’s native resolution, And as already noted by too much Brightness/Gamma can hurt your eyes!
Answer #4
Try moving your seat a little further back from your monitor, might help with your eye strain
