Sudden FPS drops, can’t record fraps like I did before.

So I came back to SAMP after like 2 years break. Or maybe 1. Before, I recorded my SAMP easily on constant 48 FPS, now – I can barely play with constant 48 FPS.
I don’t know where the problem is, my computer started to suddenly freeze and show blue screens of death- then restarts again. I don’t know what this could be caused by.
My computer specs are:
GeForce 9600 GSO
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5200+ 2.71 GHz , 2 gb of ram.
On the Switching Power supply I have EN60950. AC Input: 230VAC 10A 50-60 Hz Model: 500UB. Logo “CiC”
Which propobly is Logic 500UB is what it’s called.
I read somewhere, that if you update your drivers and switch on Windows Update the problem disapeears (propobly not in my case since something is overheating)
But – I don’t have a legal system, how do I switch on Windows Update without getting the piracy errors later?
