[SOLVED]is it possible to change a laptop graphics card?

March 6th, 2023

basically, I have brought a cheap laptop, Samsung 300E5A. it was cheap because the battery was suppose to be dead, however that was not the case, I updated the bios, restored default settings and installed windows 7 and the battery is fine. I brought a spare battery because I obviously thought it was knackered so now I have 2 battery’s which are good. both have 0% wear.
anyway, I have upgraded the CPU to an i7 2360QM, it’s running perfectly fine. I plan on buying a cheap sandisk SSD too.
anyway, is there a way I can upgrade the graphics? I’m not really “feeling” the Intel HD Graphics 3000 Family.
I have looked on google and some are saying it can be done where others are saying it can’t be done.
any help would be awesome.

Generally speaking, It’s only possible when the card is discrete (And even then the options are limited and it requires serious soldering work) so nope, You cannot upgrade it.

<<<<<<<<<< couldn’t upgrade laptop….. so accidentally knocked coffee over the keyboard, very luckily I had just backed everything up the day before….. with insurance money I built my own tower top end……. bit heavy on the knee but the 27″ led monitor is superb.
not that I recommend knocking coffee over laptops…… but if you do make sure there is a lot of sugar in it.
