[SOLVED] Help in finding the name of a film

August 1st, 2016

All I remember from the film are three particular scene which go as follows:

    1. There is some sort of Eskimo guy and one another person walking at dusk on a snow plain. They arrive at a part of the plain filled with knee-length “grass” (looks like straw or wheat); the Eskimo guy suddenly becomes frantic when the wind starts to pick up, and tells the other guy to gather as much grass as quickly as possible else they’ll die. They eventually gather loads of grass and they make a sort of bale out of it and bury themselves at the center, allowing them to keep warm and survive a windstorm ( which the Eskimo guy correctly guessed as the wind picked up).
    2. The other guy brings the Eskimo guy to town and the police jail the eskimo after he cuts trees from the park to use as firewood
    3. The other guy gifts the eskimo guy a scoped rifle, but the latter does not use it, preferring a plain old rifle, eventually starving since he could not kill any animal due to a failing eyesight (due to old age maybe)

So can anyone guess from which film it is?
