Playing US PSP games on an European PSP

August 2nd, 2013

In the forum almost all of the games are tagged to be US, EUR or JAP. But apart from the language differences are there any other? Can US games cause damage to my European PSP? If not I’ll just donwload everything
Much obliged

Answer #1
They wont damage your PSP, they’re just tagged by region so you know if your PSP can play it…
EU = PAL
US = NTSC
JP = JP
Answer #2
Ty for your answer. I can play games from every region so that’s not really my issue. The person who put the costum firmware on my psp told my only to play European games because US-games can damage the screen. I’m wondering if that’s correct because I can’t find anything on the web that confirms or denies that statement.

Damage the screen? da fuq?
I wouldn’t listen to it, up to you if you wanna play it safe… But a game shouldnt break your screen..
Answer #4
playing other region games doesnt damages the screen at all
Answer #5
No playing games from different regions won’t break a psp screen. Your friend has no clue what he is talking about.
Answer #6
ty very much for the feedback. This is great.
Answer #7
I assume the reason he told you that is to keep you from getting not-your-region stuff so you won’t come running to him if something should go wrong and blame him? .
Jokes aside, unless certain games are self-aware and can destroy you for not using the right region game, I think your fine.
Answer #8
the psp is not region lock you can play on it original UMD’s from all regions
