PC configuration

August 4th, 2016

I’m putting together a new configuration for my friend and I need some advice about graphic cards and opinions about other components.
First, he has a limited budget.Knowing that I put this components so far:
Motherboard: MSI 790GX-G65
Processor: AMD AthlonII X2 250
Memory: GEIL 2GB DDR3 1333MHz
Hard Disk: Seagate DiamondMAX 500GB 32MB 7200
And because he wants a gaming machine, and I am not certain which graphic card to put in this conf.
I selected 3 graphic cards so far:
1. MSI R3870X2 1GB GDDR3 512 bit
2. Sapphire ATI Radeon HD5750 1GB GDDR5 128bit
3.Nvidia GeForce 9600GT 1GB GDDR3 256bit
I need other opinions about this cards and whole configuration. If someone has better idea for configuration please write it.But that configuration must not be too expensive. Thanks in advance

1) First 4GB DDR3, DO NOT GO UNDER 4GB. 2GB will not be enough for the OS (well it is but it will be slow) and you cant game with 2GB without major limitations.
2) Mobo and HDD are all fine.
3) Go for the Phenom II X3 series, I think the 720 is highest. For the extra $50 it will be well worth it.
3)5750. Newest line of GPU’s with DX11 and its just a bit slower than the 4870 which is great for $150 – 200 (my 4870 cost me 200 or $300)
So your setup will be like this:
MSI 790GX-965
AMD Phenom II X3 720
4GB DDR3 (1066 - 1333MHz will be fine)
ATI Radeon HD5750 1GB
Seagate DMx 500GB

I reviewed phenom II X3 720, it’s a really good processor, but whole configuration with him is a little bit over price, my friend couldn’t afford it.I also have HD 4870 it’s a powerfull card, but like phenom, it is overpriced, unfortunately for my friend. What do you think about a configuration based on a ddr2(4GB),some processor,HD 5750,J&W P45D2 ULTRA mobo and diamond max 500gb?

a) the mobo is for intel ptocessors (not AMd socket)
b) the Athlon II x2 250 will do fine
c) go for the same config I mentioned, but get the Athlon II CPU
(or wait till he has an extra $50 odd and get the rig I suggested. Either way make sure you dont get that motherboard as it wont work with that CPU!)
Answer #4
Yeah,I would wait, but he is a little inpatient, he wants to play all new games, but his comp. is old, very old…
He wants something like my configuration (which isn’t, by the way, well balanced):
a) Motherboard: J&W 790GX Extreme
b) Processor: AMD X2 7750+ Black Edition
c) Memory: Corsair XMS 4GB DDR2 1066MHz Dual Channel
d) Graphics: Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 4870X2 1GB GDDR5
I’ll try to put together something good, your advices will come handy for sure.
Thanks a lot…

2. Sapphire ATI Radeon HD5750 1GB GDDR5 128bit
But worth just going for the 5770.
What PSU?
Answer #6
How much is he (you?) looking to spend?
Answer #7
