Passport Interview Question
September 27th, 2013
Im having to attend a passport interview due to me being a first time passport holder, and i was wondering, after the interview, how long will the passport take to arrive (with the interview going well of course) and, im i able to collect it so i can speed up the process?
Cos im planning to fly to Sweden very soon, i obviously havent booked anything, but i just need reassurance that after the interview, i wont be waiting another few weeks.. its already been 6 :S
Thanks for any help you can share (:
Added info:
I live in England (UK) – White British born.
I wouldn’t count your eggs before they hatch.
It’s hard to say how long since we don’t know where you are, what your country’s registrar/DIA processing times are like, etc. Your best bet is to give them a call or look on their website for the information.

I cant phone them, well i can, but they give no information over the phone, its all hush hush, ive tried looking online and i just end up in endless threads about the interview itself but never the time for it to arrive, the closet ive seen is 2 days, but the guy who posted didnt state where he lived.

Yea mate but it must be because its my first passport, they have all these new rules and shiz so its harder to get it quicker.
I live in India and I got it in 4 MONTHS! Yeah, four months, not weeks!
I got mine after 7 days…
And passport interview!? WFT?
I find it surprising they have called you for an interview, unless you are not a British Citizen (I live in the UK too) but you said you are, or there is an issue with whomever has countersigned your application.
I just renewed mine at a Post Office with check and send, got it back in a week, my original app (some 30 years ago) took about 2 weeks, but a lot of things have changed since then.
I can only guess that with all the bull going on at the moment with the Identity and Passport Service relaxing their checking over the past year, then they have tightened up.
